To What Extend do Higher Institutions of Education (reason) Shape the Credibility of Our Knowledge? (in other words, to what extend do we need colleges or universities to obtain the knowledge we need for our careers?)
Personally, I am all for college and getting higher education, but the issue in the ivory tower was that no one can afford college anymore. People rich or poor who want and work for higher education should be able to receive it. It is hard to measure how credible someone is if they do or do not go to college. There are many people that thrive without higher education and others who get a college degree and can't find a job. In certain areas such as art, I believe it is so subjective that one doesn't need to go to art, or music, or theater school to become a successful artist. Recently getting a job and becoming successful has more so been about networking properly. A good higher education is good to have but it doesn't have to come from an expensive name brand school that makes you pay for unnecessary luxury facilities. I believe a higher education is helpful to the path to success but it is not mandatory to become successful.
